About the Global Council of Indigenous Midwives

The need for a Global Council of Indigenous Midwives

(GCIM) was identified by Indigenous midwives at their

inaugural meeting in Bali, Indonesia in June 2023.

The first Gathering of the GCIM was hosted in January 2024 at

Hinetomoa Marae, Waimarama, Aotearoa (New Zealand).

Our second Gathering will be held in Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawaii from 

April 14-19, 2025.
